Sarawak Cultural Village or known as Living Museum

The Sarawak Cultural Village is a microcosm of the culture of the entire state of Sarawak. Known as ‘living museum’, this village showcases the traditional lifestyles and dwellings of the main ethnic groups in Sarawak. Among the items on display are cooking utensils, traditional utensils, musical instruments and more.

Sarawak Cultural Village is one of the popular places that is worth visiting. Sarawak is one of the countries that is rich in culture. For those who come to travel in Kuching, Sarawak, you must come here because in Sarawak Cultural Village, there is a living museum built to take a closer look at the life of the ethnic people here. A 45-minute trip from Kuching City, located in the foothills of Mount Santubong which has various myths.

The Gate of Sarawak Cultural Village

Arriving at the gate of Sarawak Cultural Village, you need to make a registration, here I share the payment rate to enter Sarawak Cultural Village. Entrance fee to Sarawak Cultural Village for Adult Citizens: RM85, while Children: RM55 and Non-Citizens for Adults: RM117 and Children: RM8

You can see how the culture of every people in the state of Sarawak such as the Iban, Bidayuh, Ulu people, Penan, Melanau, Malay and Chinese. Here, they wear their own traditional clothes and you can buy and taste the traditional food of each culture in the houses here. You can also see, and try for yourself games and people’s handcrafts at Sarawak Cultural Village (Kampung Budaya Sarawak). It’s fun to see games like ‘sumpit’ or a long wooden blowpipe and more. Inside Sarawak Cultural Village there are also restaurants with delicious food and there are also souvenir shops. It will take you 4-5 hours to enter here of half a day to explore between the cultures in Sarawak on display here.

The picture above I share the cultural dance perform in the Sarawak Cultural Village, what is best for the audience is audience can try the dance that is held. You guys must try it! The performance are held daily at 2 times a day, in the morning at 11am and in the evening at 4pm.
